LOCATION AND THINGS TO DO
Kingussie is the ancient capital of Badenoch, a village in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park, with wilderness all around, yet with some outstanding visitor facilities.
Walk 15 minutes from the doorstep and you can be up in the Monaliadh Mountains, with miles of open country beyond. Or explore the collections of the Highland Folk Museum, watch wolves in the Highland Wildlife Park (part of the Royal Scottish Zoological Society), hire a boat at Loch Insh Outdoor Centre or exhaust the kids (and yourself) at the Landmark Centre. Ski at Cairngorm Mountain, take a trip on the steam train at Aviemore, play golf, or fish the Spey or Loch Gynack. Or you might want to indulge in retail therapy - boutique shopping at House of Bruar, Logie Steading and Brodie Fare are not far away, as are several excellent antique shops which have provided pieces for the house. For the authentic Highland look, you can get fully tweeded up at the Harris Tweed Shop in Newtonmore. Shops in Aviemore can offer every sort of outdoor clothing or equipment.

Come for the dark skies and the wildlife. Swim in the River Spey or tour a distillery (or fifty...). Take a day trip to the fine beaches of the Moray coast.
For a truly bespoke experience, we can help arrange a private whisky and chocolate tasting (or champagne) in the snug, or a kayak tour down the Spey.
